“What does cruelty-free mean and what’s so great about it?”

Well, for starters, the best part about it is in the name. Living a life that is “cruelty-free” causes you to not only limit the suffering of the wonderful creatures that so graciously inhabit this planet with us, but it allows you to feel great while doing it. You loved watching “Babe” and “Bambi”, right? Well every time you say “no, thank you” to a plate of bacon a cute little “Babe” gets to live a while longer. Now let that sink in. It feels good, doesn’t it? Now think of all of the greenhouse gases that are emitted due to animal agriculture. According to cowspiracy.com “Livestock is responsible for 65% of all human-related emissions of nitrous oxide – a greenhouse gas with 296 times the global warming potential of carbon dioxide, and which stays in the atmosphere for 150 years.” That so much unnecessary harm that is being done to our planet. We have the power to change this by simply changing what’s on our plate!

Now I know you’re thinking “veganism is way too hard! I love cheese!” I know it’s hard. I was a vegetarian for seven years before I mustered the strength to make the switch, but I can honestly say that it was the best decision of my life. Plus, you don’t have to give up cheese! I just made some homemade Mexican mac ‘n cheese and it is absolutely delicious! We’re saving the planet through love and compassion. Plus, there are tons of wonderful substitutes for your favorite meals. I just ate homemade mac n cheese! Yummy, right?

Although we are only six percent of the population, we are growing and we are always here to help. No question is off limits and I will always be here to assist you with love, great recipes, and a welcoming smile. So what are you waiting for? Hug the nearest vegan and start today!
