Hi guys! I’m so sorry for the long hiatus. So many things have happened since my last post. One being *drumroll please* I moved to Shanghai! The process was long and stressful but the move has totally been worth it. I will be here for a minimum of a year and will be using this time to research Asian cuisine for a cookbook in the works!
In China there are so many amazing dishes that are loaded with different spices. This experience has sent my tastebuds to flavor town! Here are some of the amazing dishes I have had so far! The first three dishes are from a delicious vegan restaurant called 597 located in Minhang.
Dish one is a deliciously spicy soup filled with tofu and veggies.
Dish two is a plate of mock chicken kabobs made out of jackfruit and topped with sesame seeds.
Dish three are handmade dumplings filled with bok choy and mushrooms! Yum.
Dish four is a sesame based salad on top of rice noodles. It’s quite popular here and quite delicious!
The last dish is something I whipped up my first week in my new apartment. It’s stringy tofu with roasted tomatoes and sautéed veggies. It was eaten on a bed of rice, as is custom here.
There will be many more yummy dishes to come and many adventures so stay tuned!
